This record group consists of the drain hearing files of the Monroe County Probate Court for the years 1901-1909. These files consists of typewritten and published oaths, bonds, resolutions, minutes of surveys, depositions and applications for appointment of three special commissioners to determine necessity of making, altering or cleaning certain drains through lands, and determine amount of damages and compensation therefor. Includes file #6651 relating to application of Ottawa Beach & Southern Railway Co., a street railway, for appointment of special commissioners in regard to lands of Levi Morrin et al. The latter includes subpoena, list of jurors ordered struck, and blueprints of maps showing land ownership. #6127 relates similarly to Detroit, Monroe & Toledo Short Line Railway vs. Leander Fix et al.
